bout us- since the beginning of time, humans have been driven by some inexplicable force to make their mark on the planet. The pyramids. The great wall of china. The 57 cadilac.
But then the quest changed from bigger to smaller. The compact disc. The microchip. The mini-skirt.
But GreatBigStuff.com has brought 'big' back into fashion!
Here's how it happened:
In 2001, while working as a computer graphics and video production consultant, Jeff Bruette began selling larger-than-life pop-art décor products on eBay. What started as a hobby soon became a full-time venture. Finding many consumers interested in purchasing these oversized products, he used his entrepreneurial spirit and marketing savvy to turn his sales success into a fantastic business opportunity and GreatBigStuff.com was born.
Prior to founding Great Big Stuff, Bruette worked as a Senior Project Manager of the TV Gateway at WorldGate Communications and in numerous positions of increasing responsibility at Commodore-Amiga Computers, a position that afforded him the opportunity to teach the late Pop-Artist Andy Warhol how to create computer graphics.
As a company, we have made great strides in providing a wide selection of oversized items. The product line continues to grow as we find suppliers from all around the globe.
In late 2001, Brian, a former co-worker of Jeff’s, joined the GreatBigStuff.com team as company President. Brian has been a long-time collector of pop artwork and was familiar with the larger-than-life pop-art décor that originated out of the 1960s and 1970s. Brian’s expertise in manufacturing and his creative eyes quickly expanded the product line over just a few short months. Brian primarily focuses on mass-production of custom products for companies seeking a point of purchase display or a unique promotional product.
Brian is originally from Fargo, North Dakota, and started out in the music industry and boasts his attendance of over 200 major concerts. He later migrated to the tech industry as an independent contractor documenting technical specs for software development and hardware manufacturing for companies such as AOL, Microsoft, AT&T, DirecTV and Hughes Electronics.
Under Bruette’s management, Great Big Stuff has grown from a home-based business to a company that employs seven staffers, and occupies nearly 7,000 square feet of warehouse space. While consumers are respon sible for the majority of product sales, Bruette’s targeted sales efforts have established a prestigious list of corporate and entertainment customers, including the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Discovery Channel’s BIG!, The Drew Carey Show, E!, the May Company, Mervyn’s, and Paramount Studios, among others.
